| Bio: | I am a lifelong resident of Stl. Born here (at Barnes hospital, now BJC) and raised in the bevo area of south city. I have one (younger) sister and no brothers. I was raised pentecostal, attended church on sundays, ate dinner with my family every night, and my father helped with my homework whenever I needed it. My education was largely unremarkable. Saint Louis public schools all the way, though I was enrolled in the magnet school program from 1st grade on. School was pretty much just one big trial for me. My grades were terrible. Much of my learning was done elsewhere. Especially after I took up reading for pleasure. (Also, access to the Discovery channel should be in the bill of rights.) Aside from what anyone's expected to pick up in school my education also included; musical theory, basic art appreciation, simple carpentry, rudimentary metalworking, a little plumbing, and signal flow logic. During my junior year in high school I was diagnosed with Tourette's Syndrome. After a lifetime of having no clue what was wrong with me, it explained a lot. In 1995 I graduated at the age 17 from Central Visual and Performing Arts High School with crappy grades and no plans. I began dating in march of '96, and moved in with my girlfriend in november of the same year. We've been together since, and recently (2002) purchased a home. I divide my time amongst my hobbies and my chores. I work, and I try every day to figure out what it means exactly to be an adult. I estimate my social development to be about 8 years behind what it ought to be, yet consider myself to be more mature than over 50% of the people I meet. I find the paradox of this disturbing. I'm trying to figure that one out too. Recently I've developed a rather unhealthy interest in politics, and a slightly more constructive (Ha!) yen for power tools. | |||||
